Funding Remains.................For Now!
Despite the recent confi
rmation that both Business Link and the NWDA is going, not everything is doom and gloom.
The recent announcements by Business and Enterprise Minister Mark Prisk that Business Link and the Regional Development Agencies will be disbanded didn't come as much of a shock to most. Indeed it had been touted all year as Conservative policy if they got elected to power. There will many who will be glad of this upheaval and a few delighted. Whatever your opinion of these organisations, indeed I have had both good and bad experiences, they do provide an important duty. Of course the biggest need is as a source of finance which is vital to the development of so many SME's across the region.
But do not despair as both organisations have budgets intact for now and recent conversations with Business Link has confirmed that their Leadership & Management pot is still scheduled to run until March 2011.
Similarly, the NWDA have allocated budgets that are unlikely to be cut and there is increased potential for some of the strict criteria to be relaxed a little as then ensure all is spent before the shut down. In a nutshell this could be the perfect time to strike while the iron is hot. If anyone is wishing to access funding then please get in touch and we'll be glad to help.
