Gareth Pickering has over thirteen years of experience in the worlds of Market Research and online Publishing, web design and search engine optimisation. A graduate in Political History and Economics from London University Gareth’s started professional life with ITN during the 1997 landslide general election, working on the development and launch of ITN’s flagship election website. Headhunted by leading London based market research company, MORI. Gareth worked with many of the UK’s largest blue chips and FTSE 100 companies developing their online and search strategy and corporate image and developing online marketing strategies. Furthering his career he joined the online division of publishing giant, Reed Elsevier in 2000 where he rose to the position of Development Director. Gareth has worked on the implementation and development of many online and print propositions in vertical markets as diverse as agriculture, property and chemicals. He was key in developing and managing revenue migration from print to the online portfolio of websites. From December 2007 to 2010 Gareth was the Development Director and latterly Finance Director of the design and marketing agency Creative Liverpool. Gareth was instrumental in setting up and establishing Liverpool based Search Engine Optimisation Company CL5 and was instrumental in taking CL5 from conception to launch and winning a £50,000 start up Grant from the newly created Regional Attraction Fund. Gareth set up Marsden Training in April 2010 with the intention of establishing a leading cost effective freelance marketing, SEO consultancy and SEO training provider. He is a recognised figure on the Digital scene. He sits on the North West Vision and Media Digital Sector steering committee, advising the organisation on all areas of the North West online and digital scene which in turn reports into Government committees. In addition to this he is also on the board of the Liverpool Commercial District Partnership providing strategic online advice at a critical time as the partnerships undergoes transition to BID status. An experienced marketing professional and Google Adword Professional Gareth has a deep understanding of all areas of marketing, brand positing and search. |
